Version 2026-11-draft-1
Parent Consent
Draft — pending review by a South African attorney
TutorMe is in a small, invite-only tutor pilot. This document has not yet been reviewed for compliance with POPIA, ECTA, the Consumer Protection Act or other law, and will change before bookings or payments open. Company details marked “to be completed” are not yet confirmed.
This consent applies when a parent or legal guardian adds a child to their TutorMe account so that they can find and book lessons for that child. Read it together with the Privacy Notice.
1. Who can give this consent
You confirm that you are 18 or older and that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or are otherwise legally able to consent on the child's behalf. Children do not have their own TutorMe accounts and never sign in. [Legal review: confirm who qualifies as a competent person and whether learners aged 16–17 may book for themselves.]
2. What we keep about your child
- Their first name.
- Their grade, if you choose to give it.
We do not ask for your child's surname, date of birth, school, photo or contact details. Please don't include health or other sensitive information about your child in booking notes.
3. Why we use it and who sees it
We use your child's first name and grade only to arrange lessons you request. When you request a lesson, the tutor sees the child's first name, grade and your notes for that lesson. Tutors cannot see the other learners on your account. TutorMe staff may see this information to support you.
4. Your choices
- You can change your child's details or remove them from your account at any time.
- You can withdraw this consent by removing your children from your account or asking us to close it; this does not affect lessons already arranged.
- You can ask what information we hold about your child and ask us to correct it.
[Legal review: how long learner details and booking records are kept after removal or account closure.]
