Version 2026-11-draft-1
Tutor Agreement
Draft — pending review by a South African attorney
TutorMe is in a small, invite-only tutor pilot. This document has not yet been reviewed for compliance with POPIA, ECTA, the Consumer Protection Act or other law, and will change before bookings or payments open. Company details marked “to be completed” are not yet confirmed.
This agreement applies to tutors who create a profile on TutorMe during the pilot, in addition to the Terms of Use and Privacy Notice.
1. Your relationship with TutorMe
You are an independent tutor, not an employee or agent of TutorMe. [Legal review: confirm independent-contractor status and tax responsibilities.]
2. Your profile
- Your profile, qualifications, experience, subjects and prices must be accurate and your own.
- You decide when to publish or unpublish your profile. A published profile is public.
- TutorMe may hide or suspend a profile that breaks this agreement, and will tell you why.
3. Verification
- To be verified you submit a profile photo, an identity document and a qualification or certificate. These must be genuine documents that belong to you.
- TutorMe decides whether to verify you, may ask for changes, and may decline. Replacing required documents or changing your display name sends your profile back for review.
- Submitting false or altered documents ends your use of TutorMe and may be reported to the authorities.
- Before you teach learners under 18 in person, TutorMe expects to require a police clearance. [Legal review: screening requirements for tutors of minors.]
4. Bookings, fees and payouts
Bookings and payments are not part of the pilot. TutorMe’s commission, payment terms and payout schedule have not been set. They will be presented to you in a separate agreement for you to accept before any booking or payment takes place. Nothing in this draft sets a commission rate.
5. Conduct and safeguarding
- Treat learners, parents and TutorMe staff with respect and keep their information confidential.
- Report any concern about a learner’s safety to TutorMe immediately.
6. Ending the agreement
You can unpublish your profile at any time and ask us to close your account. TutorMe may end this agreement with notice, or immediately for serious breaches.
